Frequently Asked Questions
Planning the bar shouldn’t be the complicated part of your event. Here are answers to some of the questions we’re most often asked.
-
We can source wine, sparkling wine, beer and soft drinks for you, or you’re very welcome to provide your own.
French licensing regulations mean spirits need to be purchased directly by you, but we can help with suppliers, quantities and your shopping list. We also offer an ordering, receiving and storage service if you’d rather leave the logistics to us.
-
Absolutely. You supply them, we serve them.
We’ll also help you work out sensible quantities of spirits and mixers based on your guest numbers, drinks menu and length of service.
-
No. There are no corkage charges for drinks supplied by you, your château or your caterer.
-
Yes, but we’re not a traditional mixology bar, and deliberately so.
For larger events, individually shaking every cocktail can mean queues and lots of waiting around. Instead, we offer carefully pre-prepared pitcher cocktails, poured over ice and freshly garnished at the bar.
It’s quicker, looks great and means your guests spend more time enjoying the party than standing in a queue.
-
One of our favourites.
Our professional granita machine has two 12 litre chambers, so you can choose two frozen drinks to serve side by side.
Popular choices include Frozen Margaritas, Strawberry Daiquiris, Piña Coladas, Frosé and Frozen Aperol Spritz.
They’re particularly good for welcome parties, summer weddings, pool parties and Day Two celebrations.
-
Yes.
Our professional double granita machine can be booked as a standalone service, including one French Toast staff member for up to five hours.
The machine has two 12 litre chambers, so you can serve two different frozen drinks during your event. We’ll help you choose your drinks and work out exactly what you’ll need.
Alcohol and cocktail ingredients are additional and can either be supplied by you or arranged with our help.
Because it’s a professional machine and frozen cocktails need a little looking after to get them just right, we don’t offer it as an unattended drop-off hire.
-
We’ll help you work it out.
Tell us your guest numbers, timings and what you’d like to serve, and we’ll suggest sensible quantities of wine, beer, spirits, mixers and cocktail ingredients.
Our aim is to make sure you have enough, without encouraging you to buy ridiculous quantities of alcohol that may never be opened.
-
Please do ask us.
A great bar doesn’t need an enormous menu. In fact, too much choice can mean more stock, more glassware, more ice and slower service.
We’d much rather help you put together a smaller, well-chosen drinks menu that suits your event and keeps the bar flowing.
-
We can help organise it, but if your caterer or hire company is already delivering to your venue, it’s usually much more economical to add the bar glassware to their order.
Once your drinks menu is agreed, we’ll tell you exactly what we need and we’re very happy to liaise directly with your caterer, planner or hire company.
-
We can provide and transport a limited amount of ice, but weddings use far more than most people imagine, especially when bottled beers are being chilled.
For larger events, we normally recommend adding the bulk of the bar ice to your caterer’s delivery. We’ll advise you how much to order.
-
Our standard package includes two experienced bar staff.
For larger guest numbers, or events where you’d like us to collect glasses as well as run the bar, we may recommend additional staff.
We’ll advise you honestly based on your numbers, timings and drinks menu.
-
No. French Toast operates as a hosted bar for private events, so we don’t offer cash or PAYG bars.
-
Of course.
We’re very happy to serve wines supplied by your château or venue, and there’s no corkage charge.
-
French Toast is based in Lot-et-Garonne and primarily works across South West France.
We do travel further for the right event. Depending on the distance and timings, travel costs and overnight accommodation may be required.
Send us your venue and date and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
-
We’re a little different from a traditional mobile bar.
French Toast is designed for relaxed weddings, welcome parties, pool parties and Day Two celebrations, where you want a beautiful bar, lovely drinks and friendly service without making everything unnecessarily complicated.
Think chilled wine and sparkling, beers on ice, beautifully served mixed drinks, pitcher cocktails and frozen Margaritas, rather than an enormous cocktail menu and a queue six people deep.
